Cam Blokland

Hailing from Adelaide, South Australia, Cam Blokland started playing guitar and singing at a young age. Raised on his parents’ record collection, he was initially inspired by the rock and blues acts of the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. Cam studied classical guitar at high school, but ultimately found himself obsessed with the guitarists of the late 80’s “shred” movement. He then went on to study jazz performance at Adelaide University. There he found new inspiration in the form of jazz-rock (fusion) and eventually completed his Honours Degree in 2009.

Cam garnered some notoriety in the 2009 – 2012 Adelaide Fringe Festivals with a string of “album tributes” - performing live recreations of albums by Joe Satriani, Dream Theater, Metallica and Steve Vai. He has also lent his skills to a variety of original acts (ranging from R’n’B to heavy metal) as well as teaching.

Behind closed doors, Cam has always been an avid composer of instrumental-rock and fusion music. Eager to share his tunes with the world, he has now performed a number of times under his own banner as well as collaborating with celebrated Adelaide drummer Ben Todd.

This year Cam chose to play the Lauda Custom Blackbird 24 (pictured) taking it on stage with some of his heroes  at the Adelaide International Guitar Festival in July, including Guthrie Govan.

The rest of 2014 promises to be an exciting year for Cam. He will release his debut instrumental-rock album in September and subsequently perform throughout Australia as he pursues his dream to break out as an original artist.

Christian Broome

Lauda are excited to be releasing another guitar - the 'Wild Dog', inspired by working with guitarist and teacher Christian Broome.

Christian Broome is founder of ARMI - the Australian Rock & Metal Institute offering tutoring for guitar, bass, drums and heavy metal vocal coaching, as well as rock and metal band master classes and music industry mentoring.

ARMI are involved with an exciting line up of touring artists offering master classes including Joe Satriani, Guthrie Govan, Yngwie Malmsteen, and Paul Gilbert.

Christian is a great guitarist, and a dynamic and inspiring character leading the next generation of young rock and metal artists to excel at their music. Lauda Guitars are proud to have worked with Christian and have one of our guitars in his hands!

Damien Steele Scott

Damien Steele Scott has been playing bass professionally since 1990. In that time he has performed, toured and recorded with an enormous number of different artists and genres from Australia and around the world. He has also used a VAST array of instruments in those years in order to cover the mixed bag of styles and tones required to fulfil such a job description.

Damien has recorded, toured, performed with:

Todd Rundgren Robben Ford Russell Morris
Brian Cadd Kylie Minogue Doug Parkinson
Marcia Hines Jon English Vanetta Fields
Wendy Stapleton David Campbell JackJones/Irwin Thomas
James Muller James Morrison Eric Bogle
Colcannon Goose The Borderers
Ben Todd Band Snooks La Vie Zkye
D Henry Fenton Travis List Carter & Carter
Thelma Houston Carl Orr The Davidson Brothers
Dale Barlow Zep Boys

and MANY others, plus adding to the soundtrack of Channel 9's Humphrey B Bear, Network 10's The Music Shop, and countless performances on Good Morning Australia with Bert Newton and Mornings with Kerri-Anne.

Recently in 'Elmore Magazine', Todd Rundgren named Damien in his rock'n'roll band in heaven alongside Eric Clapton, John Siomos and Bill Evans...nice!

After being shown an early model of Lauda Guitars "Rhino Bass" it was decided that the Rhino would be the next (and ideally, most versatile) bass to head up the herd. Damien and Chris sat down and made some design decisions that would satisfy the demands Damien would have of the instrument and the results are spectacular. See for yourself in the Lauda Guitars 'DSS Rhino Bass'!
